John McWhorter is supporting Obama, too.  He said on Colbert that having a black family in the White House would be meaningful to small children.  Symbolism over substance.

          True, Ernie.......there are a great deal of folks who've pledged to vote for Obama simply because he is black. One of them is a shock - Reverend J.C. Watts, former Congressman from Oklahoma - a committed conservative.......or so we thought.
